Rest on the water
The sunset painted the sky in shades of gold and red, while the soft rippling of water against the sides of the small boat sang a calming song. Anna sat on the railing of the boat, her feet in the water, and enjoyed the peaceful silence of nature. A clear sky stretched over her, while the last rays of sunshine of the day bathed the entire lake in glowing light.
She suddenly felt a presence next to her. Max had come aboard without words, just with a telling smile. His eyes sparkled in the twilight and a timid tingling sensation swept through Anna. She was drawn to him like the tide was drawn to the tide.
Max sat down next to her, his shoulders touched and a tingling sensation spread from her arm to her heart. He spoke softly, almost in awe, as he broke the silence: “There is something magical about this peace, don't you think?”
Anna nodded, but a desire bubbled in her chest that could not be described in words. Her eyes became entangled, and in that moment it was as if time stood still.
He pulled her gently closer, his breath wafer-soft and warm. He suddenly placed a hand on her neck while his lips moved very slowly close to her. Anna could see the desire in his eyes and the tension was palpable.
The world around them disappeared and the boat sank in a swaying movement of water. She closed her eyes, ready for the unknown that lay ahead of her, as his lips finally touched hers. It was a gentle kiss that quickly developed into something more passionate, and as dusk grew darker, it seemed as though the night itself was also preventing them from knowing what was happening next...
